Toby Spencer led home a 12,000-strong field as the Great Bristol 10k proved a hit with runners of all ages and abilities.
The 25-year-old from Warwickshire clocked 30mins 47secs to finish seven seconds ahead of runner-up Rob Samuel. Tom Merson was third thanks to a time of 31mins 18secs.
There was a West Country success in the women's race, which was won by Rachel Felton of Stroud in 34mins 16secs. Ruth Barnes was the runner-up with 34mins 48secs and Sarah Piercy came third with 35mins 19secs.
